Tweet Talk: The Reunion

It has been almost a year since our last Team Tweet podcast, which was recorded for our final CI 597C class. We were able to reunite in State College last week and record a podcast where we share updates, thoughts, and ideas. Dear Mom: Web 2.0 at Overnight Summer Camp

I have been ignoring this blog, largely because I have been focusing my web 2.0 efforts on Golden Slipper Camp, where I serve as Program Director on a 24/7 basis during the summer. I have been blogging, podcasting, and twittering for GSC and even bringing campers into the mix. Check out the fun at the following sites:

The Third Little Pig Built a Community Out of Podcasts

In a previous entry I describe a Camp on the Web. I originally intended to simply share a new podcast I had created for Golden Slipper Camp, but went off in another direction. This entry, therefore, is dedicated to the podcast.

The first podcast features myself and Uncle Spoon, the camp’s Evening Activities Specialist, explaining our idea and plan for the podcast. Basically, we hope it helps to contribute to the blossoming online community that has developed, as described in the other post.

I know some people have already seen this link, but there are some subscribers (Hi Sean!) who don’t follow the entire course site.

Here is the first podcast by my group, The Tweets. We begin by discussing Twitter before tackling some of the other, tougher issues and themes of this class. Podcasting seemed to be a very good way to document our group discussions, as all four of us could participate without having to stop to type or write notes for record-keeping. The next half hour was intellectually fruitful, as conversation was able to flow uninhibited. We really made some good progress towards making sense of community, identity, and design — our three themes in the CI 597C Disruptive Technology course!

It is safe to say that the Tweets will be podcasting all of our group discussions in the future. Below is a link to the unedited Tweet Talk 1. Keep an eye out for Tweet Talk 1.1, which will have music and other fun transitions =)
